Analysis to Audience
This part asks how a finished analysis reaches its readers honestly and in a form they can check. It belongs to the second quarter. The two case studies apply the earlier parts end to end; the last three chapters concern what happens once the analysis leaves your hands.
- 29 Case Study: Palmer Penguins works a complete analysis on the Palmer penguins data and maps each step to the chapter that taught it.
- 30 Case Study: ADNI MCI Prediction works a harder case, prediction of conversion from mild cognitive impairment, with data held under a data-use agreement.
- 31 Ethics Beyond Compliance argues that the apparatus of this book does not, by itself, keep an analysis from misleading, and names what does.
- 32 Communicating a Finished Analysis writes the answer-first memo and the response to reviewers.
- 33 Federal Requirements and Deposition covers federal public-access requirements and the deposit of each artifact in a repository.
If the quiz at the start of a chapter is easy, skip to the next. The case studies are the least skippable chapters in the book, because they are where the earlier tools are used together.
