Appendix H — Cheat Sheets
Every chapter ends with a cheat sheet: the chapter’s commands or decisions in one table, each paired with the check that confirms it worked. This appendix is an index to those tables, not a copy of them. The tables stay in their chapters, next to the prose that explains when each command is the wrong one, and a cheat sheet read without that prose is how a confident mistake begins.
Table H.1 lists the chapters in reading order, grouped by part, with a cross-reference to each chapter’s table. In the HTML edition each reference is a link; in print, it gives the table number, which begins with the chapter number or appendix letter.

The cheat sheets are most useful in the second quarter and after the course, when the question is no longer how a tool works but which command, and which check, you used the last time. A reader looking for a term rather than a command should use the glossary (Appendix D) instead.
